I have been a client of SMS for over a decade! I started with SMS over 10 years ago with my two rescue dogs that I adopted. One was a puppy, the other was about a year old. I had a great experience in puppy class with my boy, so I signed my girl up for classes too. Both dogs went through private lessons and then group classes.

The group classes are awesome! It was incredibly beneficial to work with my dogs on their commands in an environment with other dogs\owners doing the same. It provided a safe space with healthy distractions. I recently brought a new puppy into my home, and couldn’t wait to start her with SMS. She finished her puppy classes with Amy and Monica.

The puppy classes were great for socialization. Freddy was able to meet new puppy friends, get familiar being handled by other people, exposed to new surfaces\sounds\items to help feed curiosity and create resilience, and so much more. You can really tell they care about creating a well rounded dog.

This week is another big week for us. Freddy starts her Day Training! I love the structure of this program. Freddy will work with the trainers a couple days a week at the facility, and then I get to work with her on the things she’s learned in-between those lessons. I signed her up for Body Mind Dog’s ‘Fit Dog’ classes with Amy as well. Spend a few minutes listening to Amy and you will see the passion and extensive knowledge she has regarding the health and wellness of dogs.

I know it’s not always easy to know who to trust with your dogs which is why I felt compelled to write this review. I have met so many of the trainers up there and have had great experiences! Check them out! I’ve included pics of my Triton and Abby “Placing” all over, and a pic of my Winifred when she graduated puppy class!

I can’t say enough great things about Sit Means Sit! I first enrolled my lab/pit mix in their puppy program and then a few months later he stayed with them for their 2-week board and train immersion program. His training is ongoing, but the results have already been incredible. He’s super energetic, easily distracted, and a total goofball—but thanks to Megan’s expert training, he’s made huge progress in just a short time.

What’s even better is that the training didn’t stop after the two weeks. We’ve been continuing the work at home, and with their trainers ongoing guidance and follow-up support, he is really doing well.

The whole staff has been fantastic throughout the process—knowledgeable, supportive, and clearly passionate about what they do. My pup is still the hilarious, playful dog we love, but with their help, he’s building a solid foundation of obedience and self-control. I’m so grateful for everything Sit Means Sit and Meghan have done for us and our pup—highly recommend.

I love the goal of training your dog so that she can join you on as many family outings as possible. Our dog’s trainers, Alvie and Megan, have been wonderful to work with and have trained both our canine and us 😀 the entire team has really been very responsive and great to work with. Right away our dog made significant progress on her goals (harmony with feline, eliminate play nipping, heeling on leash, getting into things), and we felt empowered as owners to continue the training at home with her. Midway through immersion training we were able to bring her with us on a 2-mile fundraising walk in downtown Detroit. She walked alongside a large throng of people and other dogs, and even remained attentive through blaring music and loud sirens etc. It’s truly a dream come true to be able to take our furry family member with us almost anywhere. The cost is definitely premium compared to other programs; however, it is effective and you are equipped to maintain the training for the life of your pet. Depending on your package you also have access to additional refresher and maintenance lessons! Thank you Sit means Sit! 🙂

Excellent training staff and facilities. Nick and his team really did an amazing job training our dog Rex. Shopped around at first and could not find a location that would put the time and effort into training Rex like Sit Means Sit did. At one point we were not even able to use a kennels for care if we were going to be out of town. Rex is now able to be kenneled at multiple locations and most importantly we do not have to worry about him being aggressive with others.

Sit means sit has been the best dog training I have experienced. I have two polar opposite dogs – 1 happy go lucky golden and 1 not so friendly mini Aussie mix and SMS has really helped with how to deal with all different temperaments. We love coming every week to dog training as the trainers and dog handlers all love what they do!

Loved the puppy class! They keep the size of the class small. I’ve been to another puppy class company and they had way too many dogs! Also, they allowed supervised play time which really gave me confidence to have my puppies around other dogs. We’ll done trainers!

I enrolled my 6 month old Goldendoodle Riley into the 6 day bootcamp package. I was very nervous to leave my dog there for an entire day, but I soon realized how much the trainers care about your dog and I knew it would be good for him to have that stimulation during the day. Riley has learned so much in just 6 classes and now he is ready to attend group class. Riley has gotten very good at waiting by the door and waits until I say “Let’s Go” before he exits the door and he is able to hold his sit for longer periods of time. The trainers are really great; each day I picked up Riley I worked with the trainer for about 15 minutes and she was awesome at helping me learn the routine. I’m really glad that I did this. I’m excited to start group class and to continue working with Riley and the trainers. It’s so nice having a well behaved dog and I know that this next year of group class is really going to help develop those skills even more. Thank you!

The best place to train your dog, period. Our golden retriever had all sorts of obedience issues. Was jumping on people, dogs, cars and listened to nothing except when we gave him treats around the house. When trying to find good training place, all Google reviews pointed to Sit Means Sit so we scheduled a demo with Nick and were amazed by what they offer. It was a no brainer, we signed up for the Immersion program right away. After 13 days it was like we picked up another dog. He got a ton of attention, love, patience and training that is just ridiculously good. Trainers were great and provided feedback every couple days. When they sent a video of our puppy walking next to them inside Home Depot, and not jumping on people, I was shocked. The training is that efficient, yes! One week after coming back, he is great off leash, responds to commands and our walks around the neighborhood are finally enjoyable. He is happy when we praise his behavior and does things even better. His attention is 100% directed towards us. Our hands don’t hurt from pulling the leash! One of the best investments we made and recommend Sit Means Sit to everyone!

Sit Means Sit (immersion program) has changed my life as well as my dog’s in the best way. I can’t say enough great things about them. They are extremely knowledgeable and successful with their program. They simultaneously can teach your dog the skills she/he needs in order to be safe, happy, well adjusted and obedient. They also allow your dog to be a dog!! My girl’s excitement when we pull into the parking lot is palpable! Don’t walk, run and sign your dog up! Special thanks to Megan and Nick for everything you’ve done so far for Lottie and I!
